As a sociologist/social anthropologist working at a national centre of excellence in technology, I provide field correctives to expert knowledge practice.

Formally trained at Delhi School of Economics and Cambridge University, I continue to learn professionally with diverse audiences.

The comparative sociology of knowledge and culture is my research domain to which I have contributed over the years in the following areas:

The new technologies and the service economy

Indian knowledge traditions - oral, textual and performative

Women, kinship and religion

Experimenting with language, concept and context is a special interest.

Identifying cognitive and material needs in a deeply conflicted society is my research aim.
