ELQ 30x - Seminar Course

Dear Students,

The ELQ 301/302 course classes are split into few groups of and each group would interact with the faculty member assigned to the group.

A file of the list of faculty instructors assigned to the course would have been sent to your mail. As per the institute time table, the seminar course would be conducted in a suitably chosen 2 hour slot during Wednesday, 2PM-7PM.

Please co-ordinate and contact your faculty instructor within a week from the assignment of faculty instructors to discuss the exact timing and venue of the course.

Please note that any student can register for and get NG credits for ONLY ONE ELQ course during the entire duration of the UG course. In case of EE1/EE3 students, the student should register for and get a satisfactory grade in ONE AND ONLY ONE ELQ course, as a part of the degree requirements.

The seminar courses would operate thus.

  1. The students of a group would contact the concerned faculty to find a mutually convenient 2 hour/ week schedule for the seminar course.
  2. The group would be required to meet their faculty instructor regularly and seek advice on the topic of the seminar and guidance in various aspects of technical presentation (Eg : Composition of presentation, Length of presentation, Graphical Vs textual aspects, Content density, etc)
  3. The organization of the course can be divided into two parts. The initial phase includes the students deciding seminar topics and receiving guidance on technical communication aspects. This could also include mock presentations which could facilitate faculty and peer feedback. The second part of the seminar course would include student presentations, spread over several sessions; based on which a S or Z grade is awarded.
  4. Please note that attending the sessions in the initial phase and the seminars of your group-mates in the final phase is also required. You may receive an UNSATISFACTORY grade due to lack of attendance, even if you have successfully presented your assigned seminar topic.
