After receiving his 5-years Integrated M.Sc. from IIT Kanpur, Professor Siddharth Pandey left for U.S. where he obtained his Ph.D. (North Texas) under the supervision of Professor William E. Acree, Jr., and worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Instructor at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York (SUNY-Buffalo) with Professor Frank V. Bright.  In 2000, he joined New Mexico Tech as Assistant Professor (Tenure-track) of Chemistry. After spending 4 years there, Professor Pandey accepted Assistant Professor position in the Department of Chemistry at IIT Delhi, where he was promoted to Associate Professor in October 2006 and has become a Professor in April 2011. He was a Visiting Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Missouri - Columbia, USA during the academic year 2011-2012. He has received NASI-SCOPUS Young Investigator Award (2009), Excellence in Teaching Award by Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (2012), and Chemical Research Society of India (CRSI) Bronze Medal (2016) in recent times. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) (2015) and an Editorial Board Member of the journal Scientific Reports (Impact Factor > 5.5) published by Nature Publishing Group.

Professor Pandey's research interests are mainly in understanding interactions within complex fluidic systems. He has been involved in research projects on aqueous micellar systems, microemulsions and self-assembling vesicles, supercritical carbon dioxide, ionic liquids, macromolecular solutions, to name a few, using optical spectroscopic tools.
