Bio Sketch

Saroj Kanta Mishra is an Associate Professor in the centre for atmospheric sciences and Principal Investigator of the DST centre of Excellence at IIT Delhi. Before joining IIT Delhi in 2012, Dr. Mishra served at Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, India, University of Colorado at Boulder, and National Centre for Atmospheric Research USA. He is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from UCE, Burla and holds a Ph. D. in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences from IISc, Bangalore. Dr. Mishra is a Climate Modeller with interests in the broad topics of Atmospheric and Climate Sciences. He has published extensively in these research areas. He served (2010-2015) as an Associate Editor of the Asia-Pacific Journal of Atmospheric Sciences, an international journal co-published by the Korean Meteorological Society and Springer.

Major Initiatives & Accomplishments

Taken the leadership to develop a modeling framework for skilful simulation and fine scale projection of India’s climate to assess the impact of climate change on different sectors of the country. Established the DST Centre of Excellence in Climate Modeling at IIT Delhi for this purpose.

Incubated a start-up company — Brownbag Corporate and Social Sustainability — at the incubation centre of IIT Delhi, which has crossed the breakeven point and has a steady cash inflow.
