Membership of National Academy of Sciences of India - 2011

Dr. D. Sundar has been selected for the Membership of National Academy of Sciences of India (MNASc).

     
 
Young Researcher Award - 2011

Dr. D. Sundar has been selected for the "Lady Tata Memorial Trust' sponsored  "Young Researcher Award" for the year 2011.

This award is instituted by the Trust to recognize and reward one young Indian scientist each year, with an outstanding track record in biological sciences, a deep committment to find innovative solutions to major problems related to human diseases and the potential for high quality research.

This five year fellowship carries a monthly honorarium of Rs. 25,000/- from the Trust, in addition to the regular salary received from the host Institute. In addition, the award includes a contingency grant of Rs. 5.00 lakhs per annum for five years .

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

INSA Young Scientist Award 2008

            

Dr. D. Sundar receiving the "INSA Medal for Young Scientists - 2008" from Prof. M. Vijayan, President of INSA, at the 75th Anniversary General Meeting (Platinum Jubilee Celebrations) of the Indian National Science Academy  (INSA) held at New Delhi on January 11, 2009.

The award, instituted in 1974, is considered to be the highest recognition of promise, creativity and excellence in a young scientist in India, who has not attained the age of 35 years.

The award carried a Medal, a Certificate of Merit and a cash prize of Rs. 25,000/-

Outstanding Young Faculty Fellow - 2008

Dr. D. Sundar has been selected as 'Kusuma Trust' sponsored  "Outstanding Young Faculty Fellow" at IIT Delhi.

 

ISCA Young Scientist Award 2006

Dr. D. Sundar receiving the "Young Scientist Award" for the year 2006 from His Excellency President of India Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam at the 93rd Indian Science Congress held at Hyderabad (India) during January 3-7, 2006.

The award carried a Certificate of Merit and a cash prize of Rs. 25,000/-

Innovative Young Biotechnologist Award 2005-2006

 

Dr. D. Sundar received the "Innovative Young Biotechnologist Award (IYBA)" from Shri. Kapil Sibal, Union Minister for Science & Technology at the 20th Foundation Day Celebrations of Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, held at New Delhi on March 13, 2006.

This award is instituted by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt of India for the first time this year as an attractive, career-orientation scheme to identify and nurture outstanding young scientists (under 35 years age) with innovative ideas and desire to pursue research in frontier areas of biotechnology.

The award carries a Citation, Gold Medal and financial support for a research grant (Rs. 53.05 lakh) besides a cash award of Rs.1 lakh every year during the course of the project (5 years).

Swarna Jayanthi Puraskar 2005

Dr. D. Sundar received the "Swarna Jayanthi Puraskar" for the Best Research Paper & Presentation at the 75th Annual Session of the National Academy of Sciences of India (NASI) held at Pondicherry during December 5-7, 2005.

The award carried a Certificate of Merit and a cash prize of Rs. 5,000/-
