Research
My
research interests fall under Work, Industry & Society with a
special focus on information technology (IT) / information and
communication technologies (ICTs) and India.
Presently, I am working on the following areas:
- ICTs in urban micro enterprises.
- R&D in Indian ICT sector.
- Labour process in software work.
- Social structuring of software workforce.
- Small software firms.
- Electronic governance.
In addition to my own research, I am supervising three doctoral students:-

- Ms. Shelly Tara - Role Conflict and Social Support among Unmarried Working Women: A Study of Call Centers in India.
- Mr. Sreejith Alathur (a.sreejith@gmail.com) - A Study of Citizens Participation in E-Democracy in Indian Context. (Jointly with Prof. M. P. Gupta)
I am trained in sociology and follow
multidisciplinary approaches. I am comfortable with quantitative &
qualitative methods and tools (SPSS, Spread sheet, and QDA).
