The underlying motivation of this project is well being of healthcare professionals while performing aerosol testing procedure which could even risk their lives in some cases..
The current designs are still not acceptable to the professionals as it involves restricted hand movement which increases Tracheal time to Intubation(TTI). Increased TTI is an undesirable experience which moreover ascertains the risk involved.
The objective of proposed project is to develop a prototype that would isolate the aerosols and reduce the risk of these procedure..
We have studied the existing designs and their drawbacks. Our goal is to improve the design in terms of functinality and Ergonomics.
We have created the model in Fusion 360. We are building a prototype using CNC, Laser Cutting and Press fit operations. The model will initially be tested with a practicing healthcare professional. Thereafter, a CFD analysis would be done to evaluate the air flow during the procedure.
