Assignment 4: Health and Wellness for the people and the planet in the Built Environment

Please perform climate analysis and simulations for a building at a location in the world. What are some of the distinctive climate features of this place? What do you learn from the sun path and the amount of solar radiation for this location? How can this knowledge help you to use passive solar architecture for building design? Please also consider the health and wellness aspects of building design such as lighting, air quality, acoustics, etc. Please conduct a building simulation for this building. Share the inputs used and what did you learn from the cooling load output? Which are the major components of heat gain and why? Please estimate the area that the renewable sources of energy such as Solar PV (e.g. - using a solar radiation calculator) would occupy to fulfill the electricity needs of a person per year. Please share the detailed calculations for it. How much would be the savings in the carbon footprint when using renewable sources of energy such as Solar PV vs. grid based electricity?
