Evaluation: The course evaluation policy is:

  • Lab exams:  15% + 15%
  • Quiz:  5%   (Maximum of the scores obtained in this quiz and the test conducted in July 2025 will be considered.)
  • Minor:  25%
  • Major:  30%
  • Attendance:  5% (lectures) + 5% (labs)
  • Each lecture has a weightage of 0.25 marks, and each lab has a weightage of 0.6 marks (subject to a maximum of 5 marks for lectures as well as labs).

Quiz schedule: 29 January, 6-7 pm

Lab Exam schedule:
  • First Lab exam: 14-15 February
  • Second Lab exam: 25-26 April

Passing criteria: 30% in course total

Acadmic Honesty: Cheating, including copying or allowing others to copy during lab exams, minor exam, or major exam, will result in an F grade in the course. In addition, the student will be referred to the DISCO, which will place additional penalties.

Note: There will be no Re-minor/Re-quiz/Re-lab-exam in this course. Any missed exam/quiz/lab-exam will be scaled from the remaining grading components, subject to the submission of a valid medical certificate.

Lecture notes, lab exercises, practice problems, and other course materials will be shared through Piazza.
Students are strongly advised to install Python version 3.8.10 on their systems. All programming exercises, lab exams must be written and tested in this version.
