Ph.D. with Prof. D. D. Sarma. After completing his doctoral studies in 2004, he moved on to work with Andrey Rogach at LMU Munich as a Humboldt fellow and there on to TU Dresden in the group of Prof. Dr. Alexander Eychmueller. 2008 onwards he has been at IIT Delhi working on the charge separation in semiconductor nanomaterials enabling them for applications such as photovoltaics, photodiodes, photocatalysis and electrocatalytic applications.

Currently, pursuing Ph.D. from department of chemistry, IIT Delhi. My research interest includes studying the role of surface defects in layered 2D transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs). TMDs are graphene analogs with semiconducting properties, non-toxic and stable materials. During my Ph.D., I aim to synthesize nanoheterostructures of monolayered TMDs by utilizing the defects. Further explore these nanoheterostructures for application in energy storage and conversion.

Currently, I am pursuing Ph.D. at Department of Chemistry, IIT Delhi. My research interest includes making assemblies of 3D perovskite materials with other semiconductor materials to tailor their optoelectronic properties and enhance their stability. Coupling of these materials result in either charge separation or efficient recombination of charge carriers (depending on the other semiconductor) which makes them excellent alternative for different photovoltaic applications.

Currently, I am working on synthesis of transition metal dichalcogenide nanosheets, structural and optical characterization and exploring their electrocatalytic application via hydrogen evolution reaction. Further during my course of Ph.D., I aim to tune the electrocatalytic properties of TMDs via structure and chemical composition tailoring.

		Sushma Yadav Industry Sponsored Postdoc Ph.D 2018, IIT Delhi yadav.sushma01 [at] gmail.com Thesis: Charge Manipulation in Semiconductor heteronanostructures	I joined the Nanolab group in March 2022 with Sameer at the Department of Chemistry, IIT Delhi. My project is on Development of Infrared Photodetectors based on Quantum Dots . I was born and brought up in Delhi. I obtained my Bachelors degree in 2009 from Hindu College, University of Delhi. Then I got an opportunity to study at IIT Delhi where I completed my M.Sc. degree in 2011, and earned my PhD in Chemistry under the guidance of Sameer in 2018. During my PhD I worked on the synthesis of various semiconductor nanocrystals and their heterostructures along with study of their charge carrier dynamics. It was followed by a short post-doctoral stint at Leibniz Universitat Hannover, Germany with Prof. Nadja C. Bigall. My research interests are: Development of 0D and 2D semiconductor nanocrystals, their heterostructures, study of charge carrier dynamics using various spectroscopic techniques. These nanocrystals are targeted for various photonic applications and catalysis.

He then moved to Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, Karnataka for doctoral work (2006-2012) with Prof. Uday Maitra at the Department of Organic Chemistry, followed by post-doctoral stints at University of Bordeaux, France (2013-2015) and again in IISc Bangalore (2015-2016) in a collaborative Indo-French project under the supervision of Prof. Andr Del Guerzo (French PI) and Prof. Uday Maitra (Indian PI). He is now working as a Senior Research Associate funded by CSIR at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (2017 onwards).
