Mangroves database is a comprehensive web-based database, used to to facilitate retrieval of information related to the mangroves found in the Pondicherry region of South India, including their Common name, Botanical name, Tamil name, English name, Common uses and images.

The field work was carried out by N. Balachandran, S.Kichenamourthy, with the main objective of understanding the plant diversity of mangroves and its associates, which is helpful to derive the taxonomical information based on species diversity, morphological changes and economical importance from the four different regions in the Pondicherry state of South India.
