Prof. Gupta was much impressed by the child-care system prevalent in Japan, during his 12 years of stay there. The Japanese gives much emphasis on the pre-birth & post-birth counselling being provided to the married women, keeping in focus the physical, chemical nutritional & psychological changes in mothers & babies both. Scientific training is being provided to the mothers in Pre & Post Pregnancy period at the hospital and at the hand of trained Middle aged Health Volunteers ladies. A proper Health Card of Child is maintained, in which her progress, growth & health parameters are maintained; starting from womb to the age of 9 years. India should also adapt these practices so that our national assets - the children & mothers attains healthy growth.
