About Our Lab
At the Computational Combustion Lab (CCL) in the Department of Energy Science and Engineering (DESE) at IIT Delhi, we are dedicated to tackling the critical challenges at the intersection of energy security and environmental protection. Our research is centered on the development and application of state-of-the-art computational fluid dynamics (CFD) models to understand and optimize complex, multi-physics reacting flows. We specialize in using high-fidelity Large Eddy Simulations (LES) coupled with advanced, multi-dimensional flamelet/progress variable (FPV) models. This approach allows us to simulate real-world combustion systems with unprecedented detail, providing the fundamental insights needed to accelerate the transition to cleaner, more efficient low-carbon energy technologies.

- February 2026: Rishav Verma is selected for the prestigious LOTUS fellowship 2025. In this fully funded program, he will collaborate with Prof. Hiroaki Watanabe on NH3/H2 combustion at Kyushu University (QS world rank: 170) in Japan for 11 months. Congratulations!
