Window System

The course of study focuses on quickly showcasing your ideas into working prototypes wether digital or physical. Following are the sets of assignments for the course. Check them out .......................

Window system design to better tackle the problem of heat and ventilation in residential areas.

Concept

Window design is an intricate part of any indoor space whether it be a residence or an office envoronment.Specially in Delhi, India where you experience extreme hot summers and cold winters it required to attain comfortable temprature indoor.

Methodology that we will be follwoing for the project

1. Laser cutting 1:10 or 1:15 ration units and joining them together.

2.Detail out the window unit.

3.Detailing the window frame

4.Working mechanism of rotating the window

5.Rotation depends upon = indoor vs outdoor temperature

6.Rotation depends upon the amount of sunlight user needs

7.Rotation the series of mullions together

8.Rotation of individual units.

Prototyping

1. Drafting detail individual components in AutoCad converting drawing into PDF and shifting in CorelDraw.

1a. Window unit - one single unit consists of 4 components where top and bottom holding frame is cut with 3mm MDF with 450 x 450 mm actual width. Also two Vertical components one for glass fixing to permit sunlight and one as a solid blank phase to cut off wind and light. There are 4 such units.

1b. Rack and Pinion system - 4 components where top and bottom holding frame is cut with 3mm MDF with 450 x 450 mm actual width.

1c. Window unit - 4 components where top and bottom holding frame is cut with 3mm MDF with 450 x 450 mm actual width.

2.Laser cutting in Makerspace.

3.Gluing the components together.

4. Adjust the guide of Rack and Pinion which required changes after 1st itiration.

5.Some dimensions revised example pinion support system

6.Moving the group of 4 window units together manually

7.Adding survo motor to the systems to automatically control the rotation via arduino programming.
