Facilities

At Liquid Crystal Research Laboratory, we have the instrumentation facilities for the fabrication of liquid crystal cells (planar and homeotropic) and optical waveguides with various geometry. These facilities include Spin-Coater, UV Chamber, Hot- Plate, Oven, Ultrasonicator, Vortex-shaker.

The lab is fully equipped with characterization facilities for liquid crystal samples which includes OLYMPUS- BX51 Polarizing Optical Microscope (POM), Instec Automatic Liquid Crystal Tester (ALCT), Agilent LCR meter, Instec Hot stage with Temperature controller, Amplifier, Digital Storage Oscilloscope, Arbitrary Function Generators.

The facilities for the characterization of LCs based optical waveguides and devices incorporates Lasers (He-Ne, Diode Laser, Pigtail Laser), Optical Fibers, Polarizers, Waveplates, Photodetector and Optical Power Meter and CCD camera.
