Biomass Laboratory
At Biomass Laboratory (BL) our vision is to demonstrate technologies that will convert biomass into a range of value added products ranging from fuels, chemicals and other value-added materials. We mostly focus on Thermochemical conversion processes including Pyrolysis and Gasification to obtain products such as biochar, bio-oil and syn gas/pyrolysis gas. The process products are further refined and characterized to obtain other value-added products and chemicals.
Clean Energy Laboratory
At Clean Energy Laboratory (CEL), we focus to seek solutions to contemporary energy challenges from climate change perspective. From innovations in fundamental science to applied research in energy systems are studied here. Currently, CEL researchers mostly focus on thermochemical conversion of biomass to extract bioenergy products such as biochar, bio-oil and syn gas/pyrolysis gas, its characterization for fuel applications. Researchers at CEL are reimagining carbon and transforming the way we see energy in India and at global perspective.
Cookstove Testing and Performance Evaluation Facility is integrated with Net Zero Emission Technology Laboratory (NZETL), where the focus is to emission analysis & performance analysis of various cookstoves and develop models to provide low emission cooking solutions for households, communities and societies.
