An Example

A standard breadboard that you will use in the laboratory is shown in the picture below, followed by its internal wiring.

The ICs 74LS00 (or 7400) and 74LS04 (or 7404) are a set of NAND gates and NOT gates respectively. Their internal wirings are shown below.

To create the function: F = NAND(A, B), we use the ICs 74LS00 and 74LS04 for the NAND and NOT functions. Shown below is an example of how the logic function could be wired up using the ICs.
