This is a MSc cognitive science elective and an Institute open elective. On successful completion, one should be able to demonstrate understanding about cognitive mechansism in individual decision making under riskless and risky contexts. It would also link findings to contemporary issues using the framework of behavioral economics and deliberate on possible directions. Contents: Bounded rationality, Judgments under riskless and risky contetxs, Decision making under certainty and Uncertainty, Subjective risk and affect.

The course will focus on human judgment by discussing empirical results from various research domains.
Topics span Two systems of judgments, Heuristics and Biases (how heuristics make decision worse), Fast and frugal heuristics (how heuristics make decisions better) and applications (marketing, medical, social, behavioural change).
