Filters for PLIF : 540 and 650 nm for concentration and temperature LIF
Laser : Litron Nd:YLF high-speed laser (30 mJ @ 1000 fps)
Workstation : Intel xeon e5 with 128 GB RAM, 2 TB storage
PIV software modules : Insight 4G (2D, Stereo, PLIF, Size shape analysis tools)
Traverse system : 3D (x,y,z) upto 1m
System provider    : TSI, USA
Applications:

               Dilute gas-liquid flow in bubble columns

      Cold flow studies in Basic Oxygen Furnace & ladle (used in steel making)

      Single phase flow in packed beds

      Small-scale flow around bubbles and drops

 
               Scaled-down cold flow model of ladle Time-averaged vertical liquid velocity distributions on different r-z-planes
 
Snapshots of time-evolution of tracer dispersion measured at mid plane using LIF for different bottom tuyere configurations (blue- zero; red- equilibrium and above concentration)
