Gas Chromatography (Nucon Model 5700)

We are equipped with NUCON 5700 GAS CHROMATOGRAPH. Standard outfit is with Dual Injector with option of adding one additional Injector. It can house three Detectors simultaneously. With Dual Channel Data Station, two Detectors can be operated simultaneously. Single Ramp Temperature Programming with Initial Hold Time upto 99 min. and programming rate from 0.1 Deg.C. to 30 Deg.C. With Glass Lined Injector, Quartz Jet FID and Glass Column, it becomes all Glass System which makes it specially suitable for Labile compounds like Alkaloids, Steriloid, VFA, etc. Capillary Inlet for split / splitless Injection, Mass Flow controller for Carrier Gas, Gas Sampling Valve, Head Space Attachments are options available. Options of Detectors FID, TCD, ECD, TID and PID is available.

Polymerase chain Reaction or PCR (Eppendorf)

Used to make many copies of a specific region of DNA in vitro. The PCR reaction consisted of target DNA, DNA polymerase, specific buffer for DNA polymerase, deoxynucleotides (dNTPs), primers for target region, and sterile water. In PCR, the reaction is repeatedly cycled through a series of temperature changes, which allow many copies of the target region to be produced. It is used for gene cloning, gene expression, mutational analysis and DNA sequencing.

Real time quantitative PCR/qPCR (Biorad and Qiagen)

Used for DNA sequencing, cloning, generation of probes, quantification of DNA and RNA, studying patterns of gene expression, and detection of sequence-tagged sites. It is very similar to traditional PCR. The major difference being that with qPCR the amount of PCR product is measured after each round of amplification using fluorescent labels while with traditional PCR, the amount of PCR product is measured only at the end point of amplification. The system is equipped with an optical detection module to measure the fluorescent signal generated during each amplification cycle.

DGGE (Denaturing Gradient Gel Electrophoresis) (Biorad)

It is an electrophoretic method to identify single base changes in a segment of DNA. The technique is used for fingerprint analysis of microbial community composition, diversity, and dynamics. The method is rapid and affordable, allowing multiple samples to be processed simultaneously.

UV- transilluminator (BR Biochem)

Used for viewing DNA/RNA in ethidium bromide stained agarose gels. The ethidium bromide in the gels binds with nucleic acid, which causes DNA segments to become fluoresce and visible on exposure of UV-B light source in transilluminator.

Ribolyzer (MP Biomedicals)

It is a high-speed benchtop homogenizer offering the ultimate in speed and performance for the lysis of biological samples. It is used for isolation of genomic DNA from soil, sediments, faecal, sludge and other biological samples.

Gel Documentation unit (Biorad)

Also called Gel Doc or Gel Imager is widely used for quick and easy visualization, documentation, and analysis of nucleic acid and protein gels, blots, and macroarrays. It has a CCD camera to capture images in real time. The system is controlled by Image Lab software to annotate and document images, analyze molecular weights, and to determine accurate quantitation and purity of samples.

Gel Electrophoretic System (Cleaver Scientific)

Used to separate DNA fragments (or other macromolecules, such as RNA and proteins) based on their size and charge. It involves running a current through a gel containing the molecules of interest. Based on their size and charge, the molecules will travel through the gel at different speeds, allowing them to be separated from one another.

Refrigerated Centrifuge (Eppendorf)

Used to separate solid particles dispersed in liquid medium at speed of 200-14,000rpm and within temperature range of -9°C to 40°C. The instrument is driven by an electric motor that puts an object in rotation around a fixed axis, applying a force perpendicular to the axis. It works using the sedimentation principle, where the centripetal acceleration causes denser substances to separate out along the radial direction.

Dry Bath (Jaisbo)

Used for a range of different heating, thawing and incubating samples. It has an aluminum alloy which allows distribution of the heat in a uniform manner.

Deep Freezer (-20) (Celfrost)

Used for long time storage of enzymes, chemicals, antibiotics, bacteria, and other temperature sensitive items to prevent their degradation or denaturation.

Modified Trickling Filter( MTF)

MTF is a hybrid reactor designed to perform complete removal of carbon, nitrogen and phosphate from wastewater. Pilot Scale MTF, treatment capacity of 2KLD is installed at barapullah drain in Delhi.

Activated Sludge Process (ASP)

Pilot scale conventional ASP, treatment capacity of 800L/day is installed at the barapullah drain in Delhi.

Hybrid Anaerobic Reactor (HAR)

HAR is a combination of UASB and FBR in which the anaerobic bacterias are in granular form. A 57 liters HAR reactor is installed at barapullah drain in Delhi.

Constructed Wetlands (CW)

This cost effective and eco-friendly treatment technology comprises of filter media, vegetation and microorganisms and relies on the natural mechanism of this interconnected system for the removal of a wide range of pollutants from wastewater. Two sets of wetland reactors, each of 54L, are installed at Barapullah drain site in Delhi currently. The technology will be scaled up to treat about 6000L/day.

Oscillatory Baffled Reactor (OBR)

The Oscillatory Baffled Reactor (OBR) has made sustainable bio-processing and process intensification a viable option owing to its unique design and operation criteria. The OBR is a long tube consisting of baffles placed at equal distance and supported by a shaft framework. Fluid within the OBR is pulsated either by means of external reciprocating force (bellows, syringe pumps, impact on diaphragm, pneumatic arrangements etc.) or by moving the baffle assembly in a pulsatile fashion, thereby creating vortices within each baffle assembly. With every oscillation, the vortices suffer an up-stroke/down-stroke within the inter-baffle spaces along the entire reactor length, creating an extremely well-mixed environment.

Continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR)

Several CSTR of different volumes (0.5 L – 300 L) and all the controllers and heating jackets are available

Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometer- QQQ System– 1260 infinity LC with 6495 Mass Spec (Agilent)

The 6495C triple quadrupole LC/MS system is a high performance LC/TQ available, suited for peptide quant as well as applications that require ppt sensitivity. The combination of utmost sensitivity and extended mass range. It uses Agilent’s third generation iFunnel design and VacShield for high performance and offers high sensitivity of mass to charge ratio by generating high quality ion rich gas with Hexabore capillary inlet.

HPLC System – 1260 infinity (Agilent)

The 1260 Infinity II LC System is a robust HPLC that delivers robust HPLC results while delivering several ease-of-use features. Mix and match new modules with existing instrumentation to maximize uptime and minimize disruption for better detection of compounds using DAD and RID. The instrument is equipped with a quaternary system which can bear up to 600 bar of pressure.

Gas Chromatograph-7890B (Agilent)

The 7890B Gas Chromatograph (GC) System is the world’s most widely used GC system, featuring accurate temperature controls, precise injection systems, and high performance Electronic Pneumatic Control (EPC) modules for good retention time and area count repeatability.

Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometer (Agilent)

The Agilent 7010B Triple Quadrupole GC/MS is the most sensitive version of Agilent’s compact benchtop triple quad (MS/MS) systems, providing attogram detection limits in Electron Ionization (EI) mode. It is equipped with a high-efficiency EI source that produces at least 20 times as many ions as the previous generation, making it the most sensitive GC/TQ. Dynamic MRM (dMRM) mode of acquisition provides ease of use and efficiency.

TOC/TN + SSM module (Shimadzu)

Total Organic Carbon and Nitrogen analyser with solid sample module. The TOC-L series of TOC analyzers adopts the 680°C combustion catalytic oxidation method, which was developed by Shimadzu and is now used worldwide. While providing an ultra-wide range of 4 μg/L to 30,000 mg/L, these analyzers boast a detection limit of 4 μg/L through coordination with NDIR. This is the highest level of detection sensitivity available with the combustion catalytic oxidation method. In addition, the combustion catalytic oxidation method makes it possible to efficiently oxidize not only easily-decomposed, low-molecular-weight organic compounds, but also hard-to-decompose insoluble and macromolecular organic compounds.

ION exchange Chromatograph (Metrohm)

Anion, Cation and Transition Metal Detection with 944 Professional UV/VIS Detector Vario, 940 Professional IC Vario, 942 Extension module Vario and 858 Professional sample processor. The 940 Professional IC Vario TWO/ChS/PP is the intelligent two-channel IC instrument with a chemical suppressor and a peristaltic pump for suppressor regeneration. The instrument can be used with a wide range of separation and detection methods.

MALDI microflex (Bruker)

The compact microflex LT/SH is a linear-mode MALDI-TOF System. The bench-top design allows for high MALDI performance while using only little laboratory space. For faster time to result the microflex smart LS includes Bruker´s proprietary smartbeam® laser technology. The microflex LRF is the best in class bench-top MALDI-TOF and has been designed for more demanding applications. With its linear and reflector modes of operation it addresses a wide range of applications

Spectrophotometer – Spectra max Plus 384 microplate reader (Molecular Devices)

The SpectraMax® Plus 384 Microplate Reader from Molecular Devices can run both standard spectrophotometer and microplate reader applications on the same instrument. Read one sample or up to 96 in a single plate read using any standard cuvette, 12 x 75 mm test tube, or 96 well microplate. For more sample throughput, the system can be easily integrated into a full robotic system and easily adapts to fit sample processing requirements
