M.tech, M.S. or PhD?

It depends on why you choose higher education. If it's your another shot to lend into a better job then no doubt you should be choosing M.Tech. As this is the shortest course and if done from a good place can fetch you a nice paying job.

However if you think that you are more than that are not just for a job change and rather want to learn something new. This may be your opportunity to improve your skill set and identify yourself. However at the same time you are concerned with the long duration taken by PhD(roughly 4 to 5 years). Then you may opt for a MS degree. This degree is different from M.Tech. in a sense that it provides you an opportunity to work on a research problem for 2 to 3 years duration under a fixed supervisor. It is more like a mini PhD and can be a very good platform to make your mind if you are made for research or not. Nowadays most Indian university provides you an option to upgrade it to PhD later on if you find it suitable. Hence this can be a best option if you are in dilemma

But if you are confident and think that research is something you always wanted to do in your life. then surely you can opt for a phd. Nowadays even after your B.Tech. you can opt for a PhD if you have performed very well during your Bachelor course.

If you are looking for a PhD

PhD is the highest degree offered in any academic institute. Being a PhD candidate you get the opportunity to work on cutting edge problems. Doing this you can potentially extend the state of the arts in your domain and thereby earn your PhD. MS Research
