Prospective Students

Why to join us?

Before we jump into what is expected from you, let’s start with what does Mixed Signal Design mean what should you expect when you join.

Internet says, “Mixed Signal Design involves designing SoCs which involve a mix of Analog and Digital blocks”. This means the chip contains analog blocks like oscillators and amplifiers working in sync with digital blocks like muxes, adders and memory blocks. To clarify more, Analog circuits involve dealing with time varying, continuous value signals and digital design all about dealing with 0 and 1 bits. And that is what the Mixed Signal Group is all about. It’s the whole package of designing any SoC, starting with placing individual transistors, making control blocks using HDL, connecting them all together, and bringing them in layout form using a variety of tools, namely Cadence Virtuoso (for analog and mixed signal design and simulations), Vivado(for HDL coding) and Genus(for synthesizing digital blocks and converting them into schematic form).

All of our current projects include full chip designs for ADCs and DACs, each stage of chip executed by our students, until tapeout. Here, there’ll be immense learning opportunities, jumping from tool to tool, all requiring different skill set.

If you are someone with basic understanding of MOSFETs and RC circuits, have a good grip on your basic concepts and are ready to learn and take up challenging tasks every day, reach out now!

If you are interested in PhD

If research intrigues you and your curiosity is never satisfied, and working on challenging task in keeping with the current technological progress is your passion, then PhD is the right path for you. Contact us with your SoP and detailed CV before you apply to let us know you are interested. The institute conducts interview twice a year for PhD admissions. Follow this link to apply for our PhD programs.

If you are interested in MSR

If you want to pursue higher studies but are unsure about your interests, if you have little or no research experience but want to explore the electronics field, through experiments outside of class, if you want to innovate outside of class and not just follow coursework blindly, then MS(R) is the way to go. Reach out through email with your SoP and detailed CV to let us know about your interests. Follow this link to apply for our MS(R) programs.

Internship Opportunities

If you are just looking for some experience and are willing to contribute to our ongoing projects, do reach out to us for summer internship opportunities.
