Nilotpal Majumder

I have done M.Tech in Biotechnology from KIIT University (Bhubaneswar, India). My PhD topic is modulation of signalling pathways in cartilage Bioprinting.

My hobbies include reading books, watching Discovery channel; visiting historical places.

Maumita Bhattacharjee
(Jointly with Prof Alok R. Ray, CBME)

I have completed my BSc. In Biotechnology from NEHU Shillong followed by MSc in Applied Microbiology & Biotechnology from Banasthali University Rajasthan. With CSIR NET JRF I have started my research career as a PhD scholar at IIT Delhi, focusing on the development of Silk-based hydrogel for regeneration of Intervertebral disc through tissue engineering. My research would also focus onto the use of antisense technology and RNAi for the treatment of IVD degeneration.

Apart from academics I have keen interest in reading, listening to music, trekking and exploring new adventurous places.

Sanskrita Das
(Jointly with Prof Alok R. Ray, CBME)

I have completed my B-Tech In Biomedical Engineering from Sathyabama University, Chennai (Tamilnadu), followed by M.Tech. in Biomedical Engineering from Manipal University, Manipal (Karnataka). Currently I am pursuing my PhD at IIT Delhi. My main focus is the development of 3D scaffold with the help of Direct Write Assembly, which can develop to generate very precise 3D structure according to the geometry loaded by user from clinical images (MRI, MicroCT). After fabricating the scaffold, my focus would also be to induce guided differentiation of stem cells by controlling cell shape.

Apart from academics I am very much interested in reading, listening to music, cooking, dancing, trekking and exploring new adventurous places. I am also into sports.

Project Staffs

Barnali Mukherjee

My journey in the fascinating field of Biotechnology started in the year 2003, when I took Biotechnology as my graduation specialization at Bangalore University. Moving up the ladder I completed Postgraduation in Biotechnology at 2008. Then I joined Simbiosys India Pvt Ltd as Research Associate in Molecular Diagnostics. After a brief stint, I was located in Delhi, which gave me a golden opportunity to associate myself with the project about establishment of in vitro tissue model for degenerative osteoarthritic disease.

Besides Tissue engineering, Cancer Biology is the field of interest for me.

Sudhanshu Singh

My current project topic is 'modification of ink jet printer for scaffold-free Tissue Engineering' using Silk fibroin solution as Bio-ink. Previously I worked as a Junior Research Fellow on Microfluidics at IIT Bombay. I have completed M.Tech in Nanotechnology from NIT Kurukshetra and B.Tech in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from UP Technical University, Lucknow. My area of interests are application of Microfluidics and Semiconductors for biomedical applications.

My hobbies are reading books and papers, listening music.

Sumit Murab

MTech Students

Kunal Singha

I had completed my B.Tech in Textile Technology from GCETTS, West Bengal. Currently I am working on biomechanical characterization of Silk fibre-ECM composite Intervertebral disc (IVD) tissue constructs.

Besides academics I play football, carom, reading business magazines, motivating books, listening to music.

BTech Students

Suneet Kumbhat

Gurwant Singh

Suneet and Gurwant are studying the structural features responsible for transparency of human cornea. They intend to recreate 3D architecture of human Cornea by using Direct writing system.

Visiting Students

Atul Singh

I am going through M. Tech. (Final year) in Biotechnology from MITS, Gwalior. I have registered as "casual student" at IIT Delhi to experience hands-on research in a research intensive environment. I am currently working on "Cell sheet engineering for Cornea regeneration".

Apart from studies, I have interests in creative writing, Music and Cricket. I always try to smile and make the people around me happy every time.

Alumni

M.Tech.

Sourav Mondal

I did my B.Tech from Institute of Jute Technology under Calcutta University. During my M.Tech. at IIT Delhi, I worked on development of Silk fibre-hydrogel composite constructs for replacing degenerated Intervertebral Disc. Presently I am working at Vardhaman Textiles, but in future I have a strong desire to comeback into this fascinating area of Tissue Engineering.

Besides academics I have interests in learning new softwares. I love to solve puzzles specially sudoku. I also play guitar.

Current status: Vardhaman Textiles Ltd

Reshu Gupta

I did my B-Tech from Government central textile institute, Kanpur. During M.Tech. my research topic was to develop novel multi-layered wound dressing using Sericin-alginate based IPN hydrogel for chronic ulcer.

Current status: Lecturer at Panipat Institute of Engineering & Technology

B.Tech.
