Ongoing Research Activities and Opportunities

Broad topics of ongoing research are as follows:

• Energy harvesting: We are now working on the 3rd generation of our energy harvesting circuits. Based on prior work, the objective of this work is to make our circuits plug-and-play. The research objective here is to incorporate charge-pump based harvesting and remove the inductor that has been used so far. Specific opportunities and more about energy harvesting.
• Ultra-low power reference circuits: We are working on our 4th generation of voltage, current and frequency references. The objective is to develop temperature-stable, process-stable references that have known values. Specific opportunities and more about references.
• Automotive radar: So far we have been working on the signal processing back-end. Specific opportunities and more about automotive radar.
• RFID communications: Feasibility study. Specific opportunities and more about RFID communications.
• On-chip physically unclonable function: Development of an RSA chip. Specific opportunities and more about physically unclonable functions.
• On-chip antennae: Feasibility study. Specific opportunities and more about on-chip antennae.
• Charge controlled oscillators: We are now working on the 2nd generation of these circuits. The objective is to make our circuits perform as per mathematical models. Specific opportunities and more about charge-controlled oscillators.
• Asynchronous wireless communications: We are working on our first chip for this. The objective is to establish wireless communications without a crystal oscillator.Specific opportunities and more about asynchronous wireless communications.
