Bio

I am a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Delhi. Before joining IIT Delhi, I worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Temple University, Philadelphia, and as a scientist at ISRO Bangalore. I received my Ph.D. from the University of Toronto, my M.E. from IISc Bangalore, and my B.Tech. from NIT Warangal.

Research focus

My research interests are broadly in mechanics and failure of materials. We study adhesion, fracture, fatigue and impact response of mechanical systems using both experimental and numerical techniques. Our current activities include work on tissue biomechanics, composite joints, nanocomposites, and photovoltaic modules.

Research themes

Structural composites

Design optimization; Fracture and fatigue of laminates and joints.

Nanocomposites

Conductive epoxy systems with emphasis on mechanics and multifunctionality.

Tissue biomechanics

Soft tissue response, surrogate models, and injury mechanics.

PV modules

Encapsulant adhesion, degradation, and recycling of modules.
