Hi there!
I love to spend time in nature and would like a world, where we care about the environment (both living and non-living). This defines myself and what I do professionally.
I am one of the founding faculty coordinators of the the IITD Hiking Club. Here is the Instagram handle of the IITD Hiking Club and some glimpses of my nature experiences.
We recently conducted a Change Makers 2025 summer bootcamp at IIT Delhi on understanding problems and devising initial solutions on different aspects of environmental sustainability. We had 108 students from all over the country and beyond and it was very satisfying.
I love to teach courses along the lines of Design and Environment, Design for Environmental Change, Carbon Footprinting and the like. Very recently, we have set up a Sustainable Behaviours Group within our department and we are teaching courses, conducting research and working on high impact projects in this direction to contribute to the most pressing environment challenges facing us.
I also teach courses in integrated functional prototyping (involving mechatronics, IoT and data science) in fun ways :). I also happen to be the Faculty incharge of the IIT Delhi Makerspace which helps the students to translate their creative ideas into functional prototypes.

Research and practice wise, our group has interests working in the area of "Design for environmental health and wellness". We have collaborations with faculty within our institute and beyond in the areas of design, engineering, medicine and sciences. We are presently working on understanding the nexus between air quality (outdoors and indoors), thermal discomfort due to heat stress (outdoors and indoors) and energy sustainability. The present projects that the group is working on are about developing low cost sensor networks for air pollution monitoring, Urban Heat Island Effect assessment using sensors and remote sensing, spatio-temporal understanding of indoor air quality, estimating indoor environment quality in hospitals and prisons, learnings from the communities living a low carbon lifestyle and R&D of medical devices in airway management.
