The first Assignment in DSL810: Prototyping in IoT, was to build a website. Basic concepts of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript were discussed in class, as well as relevant links were provided for practice. The main objective of the website was a basic introduction of the student and a section for assignments as well as a project. In this section, I'd describe the steps I followed while making my first website.
The second Assignment in DSL810: Prototyping in IoT, was to come up with a proposal for the course project. The project should use both uC prohramming, embedded programming, electronics (input+output devices) skills, as well as UI in laptop/mobile app. I decided that I'll be working on the project, "Hand Gesture Controlled Wifi Robot", along with my project partner, Animesh Singh.
The third Assignment in DSL810: Prototyping in IoT, was to develop an application integrating a GUI in a language such as Processing, Python, etc. with a microcontroller such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc. Use serial communication to make the interface interact with the microcontroller. I developed an interface in Processing that allows users to select for among 4 options which interact with Arduino COM4 port at 9600bps. Using the four buttons, the user can control for how long they would like to run the devices connected to the circuit. I made a simple circuit connecting an LED bulb, a buzzer and an LCD display. Using the buttons, the users can play the buzzer and the LED for 1,2,3 and 4 seconds. The LCD display shows the amount of time the devices are run.
The fourth Assignment in DSL810: Prototyping in IoT, was divided in two parts. The first part was to find out the functions of various sensors present in our mobile phones, and to use the Google Science Journal App to conduct an experiment to measure and analyze the data from a sensor. The second part was to combine an input and output device together and collect data for an activity.
The sixth Assignment in DSL810: Prototyping in IoT, was about the applications of my knowledge of data science to present a solution to a real life problem. Based on the learnings through this course, I have chosen the problem of Housing Price Prediction for this assignment. I have explored the key features which are relevant for the price prediction as well as the model that best fits my solution.
The seventh Assignment in DSL810: Prototyping in IoT, was about the applications for Covid 19. We should upload the write-up about developing a concept of a digital/physical solution for COVID-19 or post COVID-19 India based on the applications of what we have learnt in this course. For this project, I and Ayush Pandey decided to work on the problem of Transportation of Essential Goods. Most of the ideation and the final solution was done together for this project, with equal contribution from both students, with my work slightly inclined towards the research side and my partner's slightly towards the technical side.
